Eleanor Jones

British author but as far as I know not published in the UK. Has written a number of books for the USA/German publisher Stabenfeldt.

Eleanor learned to ride from an early age and has always been surrounded by horses, having run a successful riding centre for many years. Writing was another early passion which has endured and has developed from writing magazine articles to penning full length pony novels. Her pony stories tend to have a supernatural/ghostly slant.

SUMMARY: Supernatural pony mystery. Life seems sweet for Tina and her beloved horse Phantom until the day of the show when tragedy strikes and their lives change forever. What is the circle of blue and can it transport her and Phantom back to their old happy life?
PONYMAD VIEW: An excellent highly original story which really makes the reader think. It has almost a sci-fi alternative universe slant. Perhaps not for those who like to keep their feet firmly on the ground in terms of reading matter. But for those who enjoy something a little bit different, I would highly recommend it.
PONYMAD RATING: 4 HORSESHOES

SPIRIT OF THE SEA
(STABENFELDT/PONY CLUB [USA] 2009)
SUMMARY: Supernatural horse story. Grace is riding her  pony Magic along the beach when a distant cry sends Magic crazy. Soon she is convinced that there is a powerful horse spirit in the sea calling to her mare. But how can she save Magic when no-one will believe her?

Collectors Info:
The books are smallish hardbacks with pictorial boards or paperbacks. Eleanor Jones is one of a number of British authors who have been published by Stanenfeldt/Pony Club in the USA but not in the UK.  The books are rarely seen in the UK although one or two copies can be found from specialist dealers or auction sites. Much easier to find in America.
